Como 1907 Snap Up Swedish Teen Zebedee Kennedy in a Reminder That Academy Scouting Never Stops
29 August 2026
Serie A side Como have completed a permanent move for 16-year-old Swedish forward Zebedee Kennedy from Mjallby AIF, showing how far clubs will travel to find raw goal-scoring talent.
Como 1907 have confirmed the permanent signing of 16-year-old Swedish forward Zebedee Kennedy, who joins the Serie A club's academy setup from Mjallby AIF ahead of the 2026/27 season. Kennedy, born in 2010, began his youth career at GIF Sundsvall before moving to Mjallby in 2025, where his form quickly earned him call-ups to Sweden's Under-15 and Under-16 national teams, with four goals in ten appearances.
Como's Head of Development described Kennedy as a concrete, physically strong attacker with a great goal-scoring instinct, adding that his performances for Sweden's youth sides had already shown what he can offer. For a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, targeting a teenager still two years away from professional terms shows just how far scouting networks now stretch in search of the next breakthrough striker.
For young players, Kennedy's path is a useful blueprint: he built his reputation step by step, moving between academies inside Sweden and letting performances at Under-15 and Under-16 international level do the talking before any big transfer arrived. Consistency at a smaller club, paired with strong numbers for your country's youth teams, is often what gets you noticed by scouts thousands of miles away.
