Manchester United U16s Head to Hong Kong for Free Youth Summit β A Dream Chance for Young Asian Footballers
10 July 2026
Manchester United's Academy U16 squad will visit Hong Kong in August for the Jockey Club Youth Football Academy Summit, offering local young players a once-in-a-lifetime training and cultural exchange experience.
Here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young footballers in Hong Kong: Manchester United's Academy U16 squad is heading to the city this August as part of the annual Jockey Club Youth Football Academy Summit, running from 11 to 18 August 2026.
The week-long programme is far more than just a couple of football matches. Young players will get to train alongside one of the most famous academy setups in world football, while also participating in cultural activities including a visit to the Hong Kong Palace Museum and a dragon boat experience. It is the kind of holistic development programme that top academies now understand is essential for producing well-rounded players.
Two matches are scheduled at Mong Kok Stadium β on 15 August against a Premier Youth League Select Team and on 17 August against the Hong Kong, China U16 Representative Team. Admission is free, with tickets available from 14 July at hkjc.com/withyou. Fans will also have the chance to meet Manchester United legends Peter Schmeichel and Phil Jones.
Events like this one are hugely valuable for grassroots development in Asia. When young players get to train alongside peers from elite European academies, they raise their own standards, gain new technical insights, and build connections that can last a lifetime.
If you are a young footballer in Hong Kong, this is your chance to learn from one of the world's best academy programmes. Do not miss it.
